Khairpur Nathan Shah submerged; 5,000 stranded

Several villages, grid station and educational institutes have been inundates in Khairpur Nathan Shah whole three to four feet water is standing in the streets after the floodwaters struck it. The road link of Larkana, Shikarpur and Qambar Shahdadkot to Karachi has been suspended after submersion of Indus Highway. The Met Department forecast heavy rain in the lower Sindh areas. Around 5,000 people have been marooned in the area waiting for help. Cracks at seven places in Khudawa flooded Indus Highway, while breach in Kot Alimon caused inundation of around 25,000 hectares of land. Another flood tide from Mir Khan Mori is heading towards Jati, a district of Thatta. Water level in River Indus is decreasing at Tando Muhammad Khan. Kotri Barrage is still in high flood with an inflow of 775,000 cusecs with a downward trend. The broken Mandra Bridge of Dera Ismail Khan has not been repaired even after a lapse of one month.
