Judicial commission constituted to probe dyke breaches
Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Khawaja Muhammad Sharif on Thursday has constituted a three-member judicial commission to investigate the breaching of dykes and bunds in south Punjab. Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif had requested the Chief Justice to form a judicial commission three days ago. Reason behind this plea was that several politicians, landlords and influential persons were accused of breaching dykes to save their own lands due to which many areas were submerged. The judicial commission led by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah also includes Secretary INP Mansoob Ali Khan and UET engineer Abdul Sattar Shakir. The commission will complete its report on breaches made Jampur, Taunsa Barrage, Jinnah Barrage and Mithan Kot and present it to the apex court.
