Offices and educational institute of district level will remain closed

LAHORE (Dunya News) – District government Lahore issued a notification on Wednesday to declare 3rd of December a local holiday on the occasion of Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs, reported Dunya News.

According to notification, all offices and educational institute of district level will remain closed while other institutes will be open. Local holiday will not be applicable on Civil Secretariat and the staff will be present. The celebrations of Data Ganj Bakhsh’s 972 Urs were started on Tuesday.

The three-day Urs ceremonies of 10th century saint Hazrat Ali bin Usman Sheikh Ali Hajveri (RA), commonly known as Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA), will start today (Tuesday) in Lahore with enthusiasm and fervor.

The Urs ceremonies will start at 10am with inauguration of milk sabeel. Thousands of devotees from all around the country have reached Lahore to attend the three-day Urs celebrations.

Walkthrough gates and CCTV cameras have been installed for the safety of the devotees while more than 2,000 police personnel will to maintain law and order situation during Urs celebrations.
