Earthquake of 6.2 magnitude jolts KP, Punjab and Kashmir
The initial reports say no reports of any loss of life or property has been received as yet
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Severe earthquake jolted several areas of the country including Swat, Muzaffarabad, Batgram, Peshawar, Islamabad and Lahore with the recorded magnitude of 6.2, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the earthquake jolted various parts of the country at 11:16pm after which people started evacuating the buildings.
The areas where the strongest shocks were felt include Swat, Muzaffarabad, Batgram, Peshawar, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad and Lahore.
The initial reports say no reports of any loss of life or property has been received as yet.
Other than Pakistan, the tremours of earthquake were also felt in Tajikistan, Afghanistan, India and Indian-occupied Kashmir.
The Met office said the depth of the earthquake was 86 kilometer and its center was the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border whereas its intensity was 6.2 on the Richter scale.
