Dunya News Faisalabad bureau was attacked by terrorists claiming to be from ISIS

LAHORE: (Web Desk, Dunya News) – Twitterati on Friday pledged complete support to Dunya News as its Faisalabad bureau office was attacked by terrorists claiming to be from ISIS (Daulat Islamia Khurasan).

According to details, unidentified men threw grenades on Dunya News bureau office in Faisalabad and threw pamphlets carrying the name of ISIS. A pamphlet thus read in Urdu:

“Daulat Islamia Khurasan accepts the responsibility for the attack on Dunya News. We will continue to attack tyrannical rulers, their forces and their facilitators (media etc)”. The pamphlet cautions Ahlus-Sunnah people to stay away from these targets.

Twitterati were quick to condemn the attacks and said that they stood firm with Dunya News and the media overall. They said that the terrorists want to silence the media in Pakistan but the nation s resolve to fight terrorism remains undeterred despite the cowardly attacks.

Renowned TV anchor and columnist Hamid Mir condemned the attack, saying that it was another attempt to harass the media

Neesha Chohan said that entire Islam was under attack.

Humayun Saeed Khan said that it was an attack on voice of truth and patriotism.

Shaheryar called for freedom of media, equating freedom of media to the stability of democracy.

Azim Ikram Zai said that crackers can t frighten Dunya News.

Wani Absar said that media is a pillar of democracy and an attack on media is an attack on democracy.

People were really worried about their beloved Dunya News hosts.

Another one asked for the safety of Dunya News  cricket show  Cricket Deewangi 

Sadia said that it was a shameful act. She called for the freedom of Pakistani media.

Pakistani media has seen such tough days in the past. However, the support for the freedom of media has remained firm throughout and even today this Hash-Tag #DunyaUnderAttack kept trending in Pakistan with hundreds of Tweeps condemning the attack and voicing their support for Dunya News and free media.
