LHC admits petition seeking ban on Qingqi rickshaws

The plaintiff requested the court to impose ban on Qingqi rickshaws.
LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Lahore High Court on Wednesday admitted for hearing a petition seeking ban on motorcycle-rickshaws, better known as Qingqi rickshaws, across the city, Dunya News reported.
According to the petitioner, the motorcycle-rickshaws are major source of environmental pollution and no permission was sought from the environment department for these rickshaws.
The plaintiff requested the court to impose ban on Qingqi rickshaws.
Meanwhile, the court accepted the petition for hearing and directed the District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore and Environment Protection Department of Punjab to submit replies within a week.
