Bringing Orange Line train for those criticizing Metro: PM Nawaz
PM highlights Orange Line, Kisan Package, power projects, peace in Karachi ahead of NA-122 by-poll
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Just one day before NA-122 by-election, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has come to Lahore and after being briefed over Orange Line Train, Kisan Package and power projects, he highlighted the key projects of the government before the media. PM also mentioned peace in Karachi and Balochistan as examples of his government’s achievements ahead of NA-122 by-election. “We are bringing Orange Line Metro Train in Lahore for those who have a problem with Metro Bus”, said Nawaz, reported Dunya News.
Addressing the media in Lahore, PM looked extremely annoyed with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI). Without mentioning the name of the party, he said that ‘one political party’ is obstinately criticizing every development project in the country. He said that he took a risk by forming judicial commission because he would have been out of the office if the decision had gone against him. “We sacrificed a lot of things for political stability. We could have formed government in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) easily with a little bit of maneuvering”, said Nawaz.
“Sit-ins were staged. Negative politics was pursued after the sit-ins. National assets were damaged, Pakistan Television was attacked, two doors of the parliament were broken, roads to Supreme Court were blocked, tall claims were made while standing on the container but Kisan Package was blocked just because it could affect ‘their’ politics”, said the PM. He said that negative politics must be avoided in national interest.
Nawaz Sharif said that the people of Pakistan are ready to vote even 10 times for those who want to serve them. He announced that power crisis will be over by 2018.
Highlighting the Metro project, Nawaz said that schools have an importance of their own while Metro Bus has its own utility. He said that Orange Line Train would not only be helpful for Lahore but will also provide a great relief to other cities. He said that the route of the train will cover all the major points of Lahore from Thokar Niaz Baig to Dera Gujjar. “We are saving a massive amount of money in Orange Line Train project”, he said.
While announcing the end of power crisis by 2018, PM said that the work on Thar power project should have started in 1960. He said that cheap electricity is government’s top priority. He said that power tariff will be reduced to half. Nawaz said that the government has resolved to bring back the lights of Karachi and the entire country. He said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a huge and historic project.
“We are setting a new precedent in the country by saving national funds in all the projects. We saved 1.10 trillion rupees of the national exchequer in just 3 of the projects”, added Nawaz.
