Police officials kept collecting extortion money from leather traders in Peshawar on Eid

PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – 3 police officials have on Saturday been suspended for collecting extortion money from leather traders in Namak Mandi in Peshawar during Eid holidays, reported Dunya News.

In a video received by Dunya News, a van comes and stops on a road and a leather trader is then called. The old man hands the money and leaves. The old trader says that he has paid the bribe 8 times because the police trouble them. Video also shows a kid riding on a bicycle being kicked by the police constable. The video also proves that despite the claims made by Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and IG police Nasir Khan Durrani, bribery is still common in the province.

All the 3 officials have been suspended after surfacing of the video.
