Key Afghan-Taliban commander arrested in Karachi, suicide vest seized
The CTD officials said the arrested suspect was planning a major terrorist activity in Karachi
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday arrested key Taliban commander from Orangi Town area while also seizing a suicide vest from the suspect, Dunya News reported.
According to the Karachi CTD officials, the key commander of banned terrorist outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan has been arrested after a raid at the Orangi Town area.
A major terrorist plot for Eid-ul-Azha has been foiled with arrest of the key Afghan Taliban commander identified as Umar Hayat. The police have recovered suicide vests and explosives from the suspect’s possession.
The suspect is an expert in making bombs and suicide jackets. Reportedly, he had prepared suicide bomber for attack on Kamra Airbase.
The CTD officials said the arrested suspect was planning a major terrorist activity in Karachi. They said that more raids are being made in the city to arrest more of his accomplices.
