Pervez Musharraf tried to sell Kashmir, alleges Zardari
Co-chairman PPP demands facts and investigations regarding Musharraf's dealing of Kashmir
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Former President, and Co-chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari has on Friday alleged the former president Pervez Musharraf of trying to sell Kashmir to India. He demanded investigation and surfacing of the facts regarding Musharraf’s dealing on Kashmir, reported Dunya News.
In a statement today, Asif Zardari said that Musharraf tried to sell Kashmir and didn’t take the Kashmiri people and parliament into confidence. He said that United Nations’ (UN) resolutions on Kashmir are of high importance. He said that Pakistani governments never gave up on their principled stance and UN resolutions on Kashmir.
Zardari said that all Pakistani governments in the past tried to normalize Pakistan’s relations with India but the reports of Musharraf being ready to give up on UN resolutions on Kashmir are highly disturbing. He demanded to bring Musharraf’s dealing on Kashmir issue to surface and also said that it should be told why Musharraf deviated from the principled stance?
The former president said that any progress on Kashmir issue must be made with the consent of the people of the valley.
