PM assures MQM of addressing concerns, advises to stay in parliament in larger national interest

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – The meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders remained fruitless on Monday as the resignations’ issue remained unresolved. PM, however, assured MQM of addressing their concerns and advised them to stay in the parliament in the larger national interest, reported Dunya News.

According to details, 6-member MQM delegation met PM Nawaz and informed him about their point of view on Karachi operation. PM listened to

MQM’s stance and assured them that their valid concerns will be addressed. PM said that the operation in Karachi is in the interest of MQM and all the other stakeholders. He advised MQM to stay in the parliament in the larger national interest.

“Peace in Karachi will bring prosperity for the citizens. Karachi’s peace will have positive effects on entire country”, said the PM.

The government delegation included Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, Akram Durrani, Ameer Zaman and Maulana Fazlur Rehman while the MQM delegation included Dr. Farooq Sattar, Barrister Saif, Kunwar Naveed, Muhammad Rehan Hashmi, Waseem Akhtar and Shabbir Qaimkhani.
