Noose tightens: Child abuse case suspects' bails rejected, 5 arrested

14 out of 15 named have been arrested, 1 is on bail while Home Ministry writes for judicial inquiry

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Noose has tightened around Kasur case suspects as bail pleas of the suspects have on Monday been rejected and 5 more have been arrested. So far, 14 out of the total 15 named suspects have been arrested while one is on bail. Moreover, Home Ministry has also written letter to Registrar Lahore High Court (LHC) to hold a judicial inquiry of the case, reported Dunya News.

According to details, interim bails of 5 of the suspects in Kasur child abuse case have been rejected and they have been arrested. One of the key suspects, and a senior clerk in Lahore High Court, Tanzeel ur-Rehman has been suspended while Kasur police arrested 2 more suspects after which the total number of arrested suspects in the case has reached 14. 1 of the suspects is on bail.

Acting on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Home Ministry Punjab has written to Registrar Lahore High Court, requesting investigation of the child abuse scandal and demanded District and Session Judge Kasur to inquire the matter.

Home Ministry has also asked for bringing the facts of the case to light and fix the responsibility of the case.
