LHC declares plea against increased electricity surcharge admissible
The court has sought reply from Nepra and federation on August 28.
LAHORE (Dunya New) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday has declared a petition filed against increased surcharge on power tariff as admissible, Dunya News reported.
During the hearing, plaintiff’s counsel told the court that increased surcharge on electricity has irked people. He said that the surcharge was imposed without approval from authorities which is illegal, therefore, the court should annul this decision to ensure relief to the nation.
Subsequently, the court has sought reply from National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) and federation on August 28.
