Shawwal moon sighted, Pakistan to celebrate Eid tomorrow
Moon-sighting committee, headed by Mufti Muneeb, announced Eid on Saturday 18th July, 2015
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Shawwal moon has on Friday been sighted in various areas of the country and Pakistan is going to celebrate Eid on Saturday July 18th, 2015. The moon-sighting committee, headed by Mufti Muneebur Rehman announced the sighting of Shawwal moon, reported Dunya News.
According to the moon-sighting committee, testimonies of moon sighting were received from various parts of the country after which the Eid was announced.
Chaand Raat is being observed in the country and markets throughout the country are flooded with the shopping lovers and large numbers of people are being seen at the shoes, clothes, bangles and mehndi stalls.
Earlier, the met department had said that sighting of the moon wouldn’t be easy since the conditions were overcast throughout the country but the testimonies started to arrive later on. The first testimony was received from Sahiwal and then 4 were received from Gilgit-Baltistan. The committee had told that it would announce the Eid if 3 testimonies are received.
Testimonies were received from Sahiwal, Skardu, Quetta, Jiyooni, Hyderabad, Gwadar, Quetta, Badin and Qila Saifullah.
Shawwal moon was also sighted in India according to the Imam of Shahi Masjid, Delhi.
