Many areas still without power after breakdown in Karachi

Minor technical glitches have caused two to three hours electricity cut in different areas.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The electricity load shedding situation in Karachi has become better today (Tuesday) but various areas are still facing power outage of 2 to 3 hours, Dunya News reported.
As per details, the overall electricity supply condition in metropolis has improved after got hit by four breakdowns in a week. The city is observing one to three hours power cut whereas minor glitches have caused two to three hours load shedding in Federal B. area block 8, PECH-80 block 2 and DHA phase 6.
Earlier, spokesperson K-Electric said that the organization apologises for the inconvenience it might have caused during electricity shortage.
On the other hand, Water Board’s ability to procure water from its power plants has been badly affected due to electricity breakdown in the city. The pumping stations could not pump out 15 crore gallons due to which severe shortage of water was seen in various parts of the city.
Citizens have complained that the whole scenario is due to the inability and incompetence of K-Electric and Water Board officials.
Commenting on the matter, Water Board officials have said that city of Karachi needs 55 crore gallons of water per day for which new projects are underway but the water which has already been pumped out is also difficult to distribute due to various factors including shortage of electricity
