Karachi: Police apprehend extortionists, gang war members among nine
Rizwan, Maqsood and Saqib belong to Sheraz Comrade group of gang wars, says SSP West
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Security forces on Friday apprehended as many as nine criminals including Lyari gang war members and extortionists in different operations.
In an alleged police encounter, a dacoit was killed on Maripur Road in Old City area. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) City, the killed dacoit had murdered a man in a dacoity attempt at least a week ago. Police seized stolen motorbike and weapons from the criminal’s possession.
Separately, security enforcement personnel arrested as many as four Lyari gang war criminals in injured conditions after an encounter in Mewa Shah Graveyard. The SSP West said that Rizwan, Maqsood and Saqib belong to Sheraz Comrade group of gang wars. The criminals confessed to having committed crimes including extortion and robberies. The police seized a three-wheeler, weapons and grenade from their possession.
The Sindh Police arrested three felons from Chandiyo Goth near Punjab Colony in an encounter. The criminals possessed a stolen motorbike, laptop, mobile phones and weapons. The culprits were wanted in several street crimes cases.
In another encounter, the police apprehended an extortioner from Iqbal Market of Orangi Town Sector 11-1/2.
In New Karachi Industrial Area, the police arrested another felon in an alleged encounter.
