Punjab, KP and Kashmir receive first monsoon shower

First monsoon rain turned the weather pleasant in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir on Monday (today). According to Met Department, intermittent rains would continue till two days. The first monsoon rain accompanied by strong winds deluged the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad today morning. Lahore received its first shower at 4:00am today which turned the weather pleasant relieving the public of awful heat; black clouds engulfed the metropolitan. Meanwhile, a snarl-up has been witnessed at almost all the big roads of the city with all the low-lying areas being deluged with rain water. Rains lashed Gujranwala, Kamonki, Gujrat, Jhelum, Mandi Bahuddin, Phalia, Pasrur, Sheikhupura, Chiniot, Abbotabad, Muzaffarabad, Pasrur, Mirpur, Rawalakot and Garhi Dupata areas which has broken the heat spell. In the meantime, a child died while two others injured as a roof caved in Gujranwala in wake of the rains.
