A 5.7 magnitude earthquake hit different parts of the country on early Tuesday morning.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - A 5.7 magnitude earthquake hit different parts of the country, including Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and parts of Azad Kashmir, on early Tuesday morning.

The epicentre of the quake was 300 kilometres away from Peshawar in the Hindukush mountain ranges near Afghanist, Tajikistan border at a depth of 171 kilometres, an official of the Pakistan Meteorological Department said.

The tremor was also felt in Murree, Wah Cantt, Mardan, Gilgit, Malakand, Swat, Chitral, Abbottabad, Upper and Lower Dir, Muzaffarabad, Ravla Kot, Bagh.

The quake spread panic among people and they rushed out of their homes, however no loss of life or property was reported till filing of this report.
