MQM presents shadow budget for Sindh worth Rs. 7.65 trillion
Shadow budget recommends implementing property tax throughout province instead of Karachi only
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has on Saturday presented the shadow budget for Sindh for the year 2015-16. The budget says that the property budget should be implemented throughout the province instead of Karachi only. Budget stresses upon reducing the non-developmental budget and raise 150 billion rupees through various taxes, reported Dunya News.
Presenting the shadow budget at Sindh Assembly, MQM’s Parliamentary Leader in Sindh Assembly Syed Sardar Ahmed said that the Sindh’s budget should not be entirely dependent on the federation for its budget. He warned that the provincial government must abstain from forging the figures.
Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izharul Hassan said that the government misused the education and health budget. He said that there was no betterment observed in Sindh. “People of Karachi are longing for even a drop of water”, he said. “Not even a rupee was spent for development of the city”, he added.
