Altaf Hussain condemns allegations against Mian Iftekhar

LONDON (Daily Dunya) – Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain on Tuesday condemned the detention of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Mian Iftikhar in murder case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker.

Altaf Hussain termed the whole incident as dictatorial action of PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that respecting the aged and honest leaders is our responsibility, therefore, PTI leadership should resolve the issue as early as possible.

On the other hand, local court in Nowshera today (Tuesday) granted bail to Awami National Party’s Central Secretary General Mian Iftikhar Hussain in PTI worker’s killing case, Dunya News reported.

The court has directed the accused to submit bail bonds worth Rs200,000.

The ANP leader was arrested on Sunday after the killing of PTI worker Habibullah in Pabbi area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa`s Nowshera district.

The clash between ANP and PTI workers occurred after announcement of Local Government election results.

On Monday, the victim`s father told court that Mian Iftikhar Hussain was not involved in the murder of his son, and that he was pressured into nominating him in the First Information Report (FIR) by "angry protesters" during a clash between ANP and PTI activists.
