More than 20 killed in grenade, gun attacks in KP in three days

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – More than 20 people were killed in separate incidents of firing and grenade attack on the rallies taken out by supporters of various candidates to celebrate their victory in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) local bodies election in last three days, Dunya News reported on Monday.

As per details, opposition party attacked the rally taken out to celebrate victory of an independent candidate Wali Khan in Kary Hayder area of Tank with grenade and killed at least 10 people while 12 others sustained injuries. An exchange of firing was lasted for about one hour. Police were called on to control the situation whereas rescue teams shifted the dead and injured to District Hospital Tank.

Police personnel termed the incident as a consequence of long-standing enmity.

In another incident, firing on supporters of newly-elected councilor Zabih Ullah in Gambit Barati area of Kohat and attack on councilor Shaukat in Nowshera also claimed lives of as many as six people.
