ECP excuses from using electronic voting machine in election

PTI has assured of providing recommendations over constitutional amendment in next meeting.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan on Wednesday has excused from using electronic voting machine during upcoming elections as it can create financial and technical issues, Dunya News reported.

A meeting of National Assembly’s (NA’s) district committee, headed by Chairman Zahid Hamid, was held in Islamabad during which experts were summoned to brief over the use of electronic machine.

Meanwhile, suggestions with respect to giving right of voting to overseas Pakistanis were also made. Chairman Zahid advised the administration to reform the existing system so that the polling process can be made transparent.

Moreover, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has assured of providing recommendations over constitutional amendment in next meeting.
