LHC rejects plea to prevent JC from working, summons lawyers for arguments

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday while rejecting the petition to prevent Judicial Commission (JC) from working has summoned lawyers for arguments on May 20, Dunya News reported.

The hearing was conducted by Justice Ayesha A. Malik in which the petitioner told the court that election rigging can only be probed by election tribunal as there is no room for JC in the constitution.

It was also said that the ordinance issued by President Mamnoon Hussain for JC’s establishment is against constitution therefore; it should be declared null and void.

The court after hearing the argument stated that the petitioner should tell that under which law the court should prevent anyone from legislation.

Moreover, the judge dismissed the immediate plea and summoned lawyers of petitioner for arguments on May 20.
