Multan: JI announces support for PTI in PP-196 by-poll
Shah Mehmood telephoned Sirajul Haq upon which JI head announced support for coalition partners
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami (JI) has on Saturday announced support for Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidate in PP-196 by-election. Vice Chairman PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi telephoned JI head Sirajul Haq after which JI announced support for their coalition partners in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) government, reported Dunya News.
According to details, Shah Mehmood Qureshi called Sirajul Haq and asked for Ji’s support for PTI candidate in PP-196 by-poll Rana Jabbar. JI head assured Qureshi of support.
Earlier, JI had announced support for Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan. According to JI’s local leadership, they haven’t received any directions from Sirajul Haq to support PTI candidate as yet.
