NA 246 by-poll: Jamaat Islami stages power show in Karachi

Dunya News

Sirajul Haq said MQM and its allies haven't given anything to people of Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami has staged a power show at Shahrah-e-Pakistan area near Ayesha Manzil in Karachi ahead of NA-246 by-election.

According to details, a large number of people showed up at the rally. Jamaat Islami chief Sirajul Haq said that MQM and its allies haven’t given anything to the people of Karachi, adding that time has come for an authentic vote.

Sirajul Haq said that Jamaat Islami will do the politics of nobility, service and unity. He said Pakistan was made in the name of Islamic prayers, adding that anyone who doesn’t like Islamic prayers should move to London.

Lamenting at Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Haq said that if Shah is awake anytime in 365 days then he should tell what drama is taking place in Karachi.

He said now even United Kingdom and United States of America cannot prevent MQM from defeat.

“Altaf bhai…it’s era of 3G, not G3”, he said, adding that the only way out for Altaf Hussain now is to withdraw his candidate from NA 246 by-poll.

“Do you want the rule of constitution or sector incharge”, he asked. He said Karachi’s government is in books only and sector incharge run the government.

Jamaat chief alleged that MQM’s dissident lawmaker Nabil Gabol – who vacated NA-246 constituency – was told he will get votes while sleeping. He said Gabol himself confessed to this two years later.

Sirajul Haq said that people of Karachi want election and not a selection, adding that people want to breathe freely.

He asked what did Altaf Hussain and his allies give to the people of Karachi and that people now know Karachi by the titles of Ajmal Pahari and Saulat Mirza.

Meanwhile, Jamaat Islami’s candidate for NA-246 constituency Rashid Naseem said that he wants to return Karachi’s glory.
“Voting for Jamaat Islami means opening the doors of lights”, he said.

Naseem said the credit of formation of judicial commission to probe alleged election rigging goes to Sirajul Haq and yet, he said, PTI’s vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi only thanked Aitzaz Ahsan and Khursheed Shah and not Sirajul Haq.

Another Jamaat Islami leader Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that time for Karachi’s ‘freedom’ has come.

Jamaat Islami leaders were also presented with Sindhi Ajrak.

Karachi’s NA-246 constituency has taken a symbolic position as MQM rivals PTI and JI hope to win from MQM’s stronghold.
