SHC directs resigned PTI Sindh Assembly members to submit replies

The petition demands holding of elections in their specific constituencies

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday has ordered four Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) assembly members to submit replies regarding Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) petition demanding suspension from seats.

A division bench comprising of SHC Chief Justice (CJ) Faisal Arab and Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput held hearing of MQM’s Shahid Sheikh’s petition. The petition demands cancellation of memberships of as many as four PTI Sindh Assembly members. The petition also demands holding of elections in their specific constituencies.

The court directed the Sindh Additional Advocate General to inquire from the Sindh Assembly Speaker whether PTI members have returned to the assembly or not.

The court ordered the PTI members to submit their replies regarding the matter within three weeks.
