The by-election in NA 246 constituency is due to take place on April 23

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday wrote to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and asked for the deployment of army and Rangers on polling day of NA 246 by-election.

In the letter written by party’s Senior Vice President Naz Baloch, it was said that the opponents have attacked PTI candidate Imran Ismail who is contesting election from the NA 246 constituency.

The letter further reads that PTI workers are also receiving threats of ‘dire consequences’ and therefore the military force should be deployed in both inside and outside of polling stations on the election day so that PTI’s polling agents and voters could exercise their right to vote freely.

The by-election in NA 246 constituency is due to take place on April 23.
