The court ordered the excise department to submit a reply on May 9

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday has abstained the Excise Department from recovering Qaddafi Stadium property tax.

Justice Abdul Rehman Lodhi held hearing of the case. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) counsel Taffazul Rizvi maintained that the Excise department sent a notice to submit at least Rs 1 crore for the Qaddafi Stadium property tax which is unconstitutional. He said that according to the rules, the property attained on lease does not attract any tax.

The court cancelled the notice and ordered the excise department to submit a reply on May 9.
