The members stressed the need to focus on provision of basic facilities in smaller towns

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Minister for Law, Excise & Taxation and Finance Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman on Wednesday has announced increase in the salaries and facilities of the assembly members and said that the bill would be presented in the next session.

The Punjab Assembly session was chaired by Deputy Speaker Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani. After the questions break, the members put forth their recommendations for the budget. On the occasion, Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman said that the bill regarding the increase in salaries and facilities of the members would be presented in the assembly in the next session.

He said that the committee is in the process of finalising its recommendations.

Meanwhile, Punjab Interior Minister Shuja Khanzada said that National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is in the process of verification after which the issuance of new licenses for weapons would be initiated.

The members urged that the budget recommendations should be considered seriously. They said that the issues of the agriculture sector must be focused on.

The assembly members also stressed the need to focus on provision of basic health and education facilities in smaller towns so that the load on metropolitan decreases.
