Justice Anwarul Haq steps back from holding hearing of Youhanabad detainees' case

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Anwarul Haq on Tuesday has taken a step back from holding hearing of the petition seeking justice for the dozens of christian community detainees held in Youhanabad violent protests cases.

According to the details, Justice Haq apologized for not hearing the petition due to personal reasons. He returned the file to Chief Justice (CJ) Manzoor Ahmed Malik.

The petitioner, M A Joseph had maintained in the petition that the Nishtar Town Police Station has held dozens of people in Youhanabad protests and killing of two innocent persons’ cases. He stated that the detainees are not being presented before any court which is against the rules and the law.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation Wing Rana Ayaz Salim was present in the court but Justice Haq did not hold hearing of the plea.
