Shikarpur tragedy: Civil Society stages sit-in outside CM House
The sit-in was organised by youngsters and active members of civil society.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – A large number civil society members including women and children continued their sit-in outside the Chief Minister House in Karachi today (Monday) to press the authorities to take action against banned organizations, Dunya News reported.
The sit-in continued at 6:00pm on Monday where protestors holding placards and banners demanded action against leaders of the banned outfits.
The protesters chanted slogans condemning the terrorist attack on Shikarpur imambargah and criticised the Sindh government for its poor response to terrorism.
The sit-in is being held after Friday’s suicide blast at Karbala-e-Moalla Imambargah in Shikarpur district that killed 57 people and injured more than 50.
Protestors have demanded that those injured in the incident should be transferred from Larkana and Shikarpur to Karachi for further treatment.
Activists have vowed to continue protest until their demands are met.
