Gas load-shedding leads protests in Multan, Gujranwala

Protestors warned govt to sort out the issue otherwise they would besiege Sui gas regional office.

GUJRANWALA/MULTAN (Dunya News) - Domestic consumers took to the streets in various areas of Multan and Gujranwala against the suspension and low pressure of gas today (Tuesday), Dunya News reported.

In Multan, the protests were held in Sameeja Abad, Mumtaz Abad, Shah Rukan Alam, Galgasht Colony, Zakria Town and Boston Town whereas in Gujranwala, residents demonstrated protests at various places including GT Road, Fareed Town and Pindi Bypass near Board Complex.

The women blocked the roads by holding sticks to stage a protest against the continuous ignorance of government over this issue.

According to the protestors, they have been suffering from gas load-shedding from last one month and complained for the overcharging of the gas bills.

The protestors demand to ensure gas supply to their homes; otherwise they will be compelled to besiege the regional office of Sui gas.
