The PM did not take them in confidence all through the development of the draft, says JUI-F chief

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Jamiat Ulema-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman on Monday has said that they would not support the 21st amendment in the Constitution.

He expressed these views while talking to the media after the JUI-F parliamentary party’s meeting.

He said that the parliamentary party was explained his stance in the All Parties Conference (APC). The matter of giving constitutional protection to the Army Act was discussed in the meeting. Rehamn said that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif developed the draft with his opposition and left them aside in the matter.

The PM did not take them in confidence all through the development of the draft, he added. He asked why they were cast aside in the matter when they have an alliance with the government?

He said that they were not in favour of the establishment of the military courts. The situation of the country is such that they have to agree for the protection of the country and its stability.
