Rescue 1122 employees not being paid, 3.6 million crimes committed annually in Punjab, White Paper
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has released White Paper on 1-year performance of Punjab government. White Paper says that three hundred thousand crimes are committed in Punjab every month while 3.6 million annually. The paper claims that Punjab government is indebted by Rs. 580 billion while the salaries are not being paid to the Rescue 1122 employees.
PAT’s White Paper claims that only 25 percent of the cases are registered in Punjab to show low ratio of crimes. The paper claims that 12,245 kids were kidnapped during last one year in Punjab which is highest in history. White Paper says that Kot Radha Kishan incident, Wagha Border incident and baton-charge on blind persons damaged Pakistan’s reputation internationally and government’s inability was exposed.
White Paper says that Punjab government played a criminal role by creating hurdles in transparent investigation of Model Town tragedy. It says that the ‘Sasti Roti Sceme’ and mechanical hearths of Punjab government raised Food Department’s debts to Rs. 80 billion in 2012 and Rs. 9 billion is being paid as an interest every year. It claims that the flour prices are increased only for paying this interest.
The paper also says that the government is planning to export seven hundred thousand ton wheat by giving subsidies to favoured exporters while 50 percent people living below the poverty line is paying for expensive flour. It claims that surplus wheat is rotting in warehouses. Paper claims that the prices of tomato, potato and onion reached the all-time high in 2014 due to the inability of Punjab government as it failed to devise policy to control inflation.
