Clashes must be avoided for the sake of democracy and stability of the country, says Malik

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former interior minister Rehman Malik on Monday has said that there must be no clash between two political parties in the present situation of the country and that the aggressive statements from both Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are not at all good for the country and the democracy.

He expressed these views while talking to the media after discussing the present condition of the country with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq in Mansoorah, Lahore.

Both the leaders said that the country has also suffered in the past due to political clashes.

Malik said that for the democracy and stability in the country, clashes must be avoided.

He urged the government to practically show its dedication for the betterment of the people and said that PTI leadership must avoid aggressive speeches.

He also said that to demonstrate protest is everybody’s right but people must not forget basic human rights.

JI chief said that if the political upheaval was not contained then it would lead to a closed street.

He further said that the government is mostly responsible for not resolving the present political turmoil.
