KP govt agrees to hold local bodies' elections in 2015

Elections will be held through the bio-metric system in Peshawar.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Monday told the Supreme Court (SC) that KP is ready to conduct local bodies’ elections in April 2015. The elections will be held by using bio-metric system. 

According to details, KP government has shown its concern over conducting local bodies’ elections through bio-metric system in Peshawar and in other cities of the province.

Advocate General KPK Latif Yousafzai in this regards has submitted written reply in SC stating that KP government is ready to hold elections through biometric system in Peshawar whereas Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should also conduct elections across the province simultaneously.
