Administration is considering PTI's formal request for November 30 rally, informs Interior Minister.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Thursday informed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has made a formal request for a rally on November 30 stating that a protest in accordance with the constitution would be permitted but a blitz would not be tolerated.

During his address at the Sihala Police Training Center, Nisar said administration and Interior Ministry is considering PTI’s request for the rally and chalking out the administrative strategy for the said date.

Peaceful activities would not be obstructed but would rather be facilitated, he added.

He said foreseeing the probable situation on November 30, police has placed containers clarifying that government’s preparations are solely to protect state institutions and public property.

Security forces will be ever ready in case any plan to gather crowd and set a blitz in motion gets executed. Law will take course if rules get violated, he warned.

Interior Minister stated their intent is neither to target any political worker nor resort to baton charge and that they have devised the method to use water cannons.

He vowed not to beg for any foreign assistance in order to counter terrorism.
