Most areas in North Waziristan have been cleared of militants during operation Zarb-e-Azb.

RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) – At least 20 suspected militants have been killed in military airstrikes today (Tuesday) in North Waziristan tribal region, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported.

Several militant hideouts were also destroyed in the precise aerial strikes.

Earlier on November 21, twenty two terrorists were killed in airstrikes in Khyber Agency.

Pakistan Army launched operation Zarb-e-Azb to clear the terrorists bases from North Waziristan district, on the Afghan border, in June after a bloody attack on Karachi airport finally sank faltering peace talks with the militants.

Air strikes, artillery, mortars and ground troops have all been used to retake territory in North Waziristan, which had become a haven for the militants belonging to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), al-Qaeda as well as foreign fighters such as Uzbeks and Uighurs.

Pak Army says it has killed more than twelve hundred militants and lost more than 80 soldiers since the start of the operation.
