Operation against ETIM resonates with Pakistan's policy: FO
Afghanistan president Ashraf Ghani is coming to Islamabad on Nawaz Sharif's invitation, says Aslam
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Tasneem Aslam on Thursday has said that Pakistan’s promise with China regarding operation against East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) is not any special agreement but a continuation of Pakistan’s policy against terrorism.
Aslam expressed these views during a weekly press briefing in the Foreign Office.
She said that not letting the land to be used for terrorism is Pakistan’s policy and that assurance of operation against ETIM to China is according to this policy.
She said that Afghanistan president Ashraf Ghani is coming to Islamabad with a high-level delegation on Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s invitation.
She further said that matters regarding counterterrorism, border security and economic prosperity would be discussed with president Ghani.
Answering a question, Aslam said that interrogation of Robin Raffael is America’s internal issue, adding that neither Pakistan brought this matter up, nor US asked Pakistan about it.
