Nilofar cyclone may weaken before hitting Pakistani coast

30,000 people from the coastal areas have been moved to safer places.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Nilofar cyclone is about 630 kilometers away from Karachi. Rain with thunderstorms in Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Pasni, Thatha, Badain, UmerKot, Tharparkar and Gwadar is expected due to Nilofar in next 2 days, Dunya News reported.
Nilofar is moving at the speed of 18 kilometers per hour towards Pakistan and India. Cyclone is about 600km away from Gwadar and 630km from Karachi.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET), cyclone will reduce its intensity.
Sandstorms with the speed of 80 to 100 km per hour have also been forecasted.
Met department has warned that Pakistan’s coastal areas will be hit by Nilofar in next 2 days therefore the fishermen of Sindh and Balochistan should not go into the sea.
According to Indian Media, cyclone will hit the Indian state Gujrat on Saturday afternoon due to which landsliding might occur in District Kutch.

The Nilofar cyclone emerged on October 25th as result of low air pressure in the Arabian Sea which intensified on October 26th and 27th.
Cyclone intensified at the speed of 160-185 kilometer per hour on Wednesday which triggered warning and further safety measures.
Nilofar’s intensity is being anticipated to reach 175 to 200 kilometer per hour on October 29.
It was reported that the cyclone is also turning towards Oman triggering an alert for Pakistan and India as well. All three countries have issued red alerts to brace for the Nilofar.
The reports say that the Nilofar cyclone will turn to Karachi and coastal areas of Balochistan on October 30th when its intensity will reportedly be reduced to 120 to 145 kilometers per hour.
The cyclone will turn to Indian state Gujraat after hitting Pakistan’s coastal belt with a further reduced intensity of 35 to 55 kilometers per hour.
Nilofar will die into the deep ocean by November 2nd after losing its intensity.
