Zahra Shahid murder case: ATC extends physical remand of two accused
The extension in the physical remand has been granted till October 13.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Two suspects namely Rashid Tailor and Zahid Abbas accused of the Zahra Shahid’s murder case were brought before the anti-terrorism court in Karachi on Friday, Dunya News reported.
Court granted extension to the physical remand of the accused till October 13 as the police had requested the court to extend the remand as the investigation is still underway.
Port Basin police had detained the suspects charging them with the murder of Zahra Shahid.
Earlier, the Karachi South Zone police on September 25 arrested at least four accused in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zahra Shahid’s murder case after an operation. The Additional Inspector General (IG) confirmed that Zahra Shahid was a victim of targeted killing, Dunya News reported.
According to the sources, the police had arrested one accused after a raid on September 24 whose arrest then led to the arrest of three of his accomplices.
Reportedly, the murder weapon has also been recovered from the arrested accused.
The police said that the accused are residents of Clifton Phase 1 area. Additional IG said that Zahra Shahid’s murder was indeed an act of targeted killing.
