India firing on LoC: death toll reaches 5
The death toll in India firing on LoC has reached five as one more victim died on Tuesday.
SIALKOT (Dunya News) – The death toll in Indian forces firing on lone of control (LoC) at Charwah Sector in Sialkot on Monday morning has reached five as one more victim, Muhammad Aslam of Bhagyari village, died on Tuesday.
At least four Pakistani civilians were killed and 11 others sustained injuries when Indian forces opened unprovoked firing at Charwah Sector in Sialkot on Monday.
Panic and fear gripped the area when Indian forces fired mortar shells and used machine guns to target Pakistani posts. Chenab Rangers have demanded a flag meeting with the Indian forces in the wake of recent LoC ceasefire violations.
India and Pakistan often accuse each other of violating a border ceasefire which has largely held since 2003.
Despite the truce, firing along the disputed de facto border called the Line of Control that separates Kashmir into Indian and Pakistani sectors, has occurred sporadically.
