Eid-ul-Azha being celebrated today

The faithful are slaughtering their sacrificial animals in remembrance of Sunnat-e-Ibrahimi.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Muslims across Pakistan are celebrating Eid-ul-Azha with great religious zeal and fervor today (Monday) in commemoration of the supreme sacrifice offered by Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) and his son Hazrat Ismail in the fulfillment of the divine order.
The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for the peace, progress and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah and Pakistan.
Eid congregations were held at mosques, Eidgahs, and open places in all cities, towns, and villages across the country.
In the federal capital, the main Eid congregation was held at Faisal Mosque where former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, foreign diplomats, government officials and a large number of citizens offered Eid prayer.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, Awami Muslim League (AML) chairman Sheikh Rasheed and other sit-in participants offer Eid prayer in Islamabad’s Red Zone. The prayer was led by Dr Tahirul Qadri.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar and former president Asif Ali Zardari offered Eid prayer in Lahore while Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is spending Eid day with flood affected people in the province.
In his message, Prime Minister Nawaz expressed the resolve to implement his agenda of development for the progress and prosperity of the people.
He assured that the government would take all possible steps for the relief and rehabilitation of IDPs and flood-hit people at this hour of trial.
On the other hand, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif offered Eid prayers with troops in Wana, South Waziristan.
In Karachi, Eid prayers were held at Jinnah Ground, Azizabad, Eidgah Nazimabad, Darul Ulloom Korangi, NIshtar Park and polo ground. More than eight thousand policemen were deployed to ensure security of these locations.
In Peshawar, large number of people gathered at Charsada Road Eidgah, Peshawar Cantt, Shami Road, University Road and other areas to offer Eid prayers. It is pertinent to mention here that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak celebrated Eid yesterday in his native village Manki Sharif in Nowshera.
Eid congregations were also held at Toghi Road, Sadiq Shaheed Football Ground, Science College, Railway Hockey Ground and other 165 locations of Quetta.
After offering Eid prayers, the faithful are slaughtering their sacrificial animals in remembrance of Sunnat-e-Ibrahimi.
Meanwhile, foolproof security arrangements have been made for Eid-ul-Azha. Policemen would patrol in various sectors to avert any untoward incident.
