LHC declares petition seeking ban on PM's foreign visits admissible
The registrar office argued against the petition by declaring it inadmissible.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court has declared the petition for the ban on Prime Minister’s official foreign visits admissible on Thursday, Dunya News reported.
During the case hearing in Lahore High Court, Barrister Iqbal Jaffery took a stance that millions are spent on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s official foreign visits, adding that the amount is spent more on Sharif’s personal business than the government.
He further argued that there are certain personal motives behind the Prime Minister’s foreign visits and that is plainly violation of laws. Therefore, the court is requested to place a ban on Nawaz Sharif’s official foreign visits, said Iqbal.
After the initial hearing of the case, the court declared the petition for banning foreign visits admissible. However, the registrar office argued against it by declaring it inadmissible. The court rejected the registrar office’s argument and adjourned the case for an indefinite period of time.
