Federal Cabinet meeting discussed over-billing for more than 2 and half hours

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed apprehension on the over-billing issue and has directed to correct the bills on emergency basis. Prime Minister has also ordered audit of the issue.

Presiding over the federal cabinet meeting today (Monday) in Islamabad, PM Nawaz Sharif took notice of over-billing and directed to examine the matter. Federal cabinet discussed the over-billing issue for about 2 and half hours during the meeting. Advisor to Prime Minister on Water and Power Musaddaq Malik presented the report regarding over-billing to the cabinet. The report also provided reasons for over-billing and suggestions to rectify the errors.
Prime Minister ordered to correct the wrong bills sent to the consumers on emergency basis and directed audit of the matter.
Punjab government and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) officials briefed the Prime Minister about flood situation. PM ordered to conduct a survey in Punjab to review the damage done by flood in the province and assured that federal government will give complete support to provincial government in this regard.
Sources have told Dunya News that neither PM nor any cabinet member discussed the ongoing sit-ins in Islamabad during this meeting. There was no discussion regarding talks with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) during this meeting.
