Model Town case: ATC extends interim bail of accused SP
The investigation officer failed to present the case record before the court.
LAHORE (Dunya News)—Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) of Lahore on Thursday extended the interim bail of the Superintendent of Police(SP) accused in the Model Town tragedy case, Dunya News reported.
During the hearing of the court, the investigation officer failed to present the record of the Model Town tragedy case before the ATC of Lahore. On the other hand, the accused security SP Salman Ali who had been granted an interim bail earlier argued that his bail should be confirmed since the charges against him are baseless. Moreover, the court also couldn t investigate the other accused policemen who have been arrested including former SHO Amir Salim, Sub Inspector Azhar Ali and two elite police officers. The court therefore ordered an extension in the interim bail of the SP and also extended the judicial remand of the other accused policemen. The hearing of the case was adjourned until September 17.
