Qadri denied permission to hold protest rally in Blue Area of Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Talks between Islamabad authorities and Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri have failed as he has been denied permission to hold rally at Fazalhaq Road Blue Area of Islamabad on Friday, Dunya News reported. Both Qadri and Imran Khan have been allowed to stage protest rallies at Islamabad’s Zero Point which is a route at the east end of the capital. According to sources, the marchers will not be allowed to go beyond Zero Point and the routes to all the main areas would remain sealed off by police riot and containers. Moreover, the cellular service will also remain suspended partially.

Qadri’s Inqilab March has set off from Kharian and is nearing its final destination. Angry at the country’s sinking economy, Qadri sought an answer from the government on behalf of the masses.

The club-weilding PAT workers are proceeding towards their destination rather peacefully despite several hurdles. Led by Pervez Elahi, Muslim League-Q is also apace with the Inqilab March heading for Islamabad. The caravan is expected to travel approximately 218 miles with followers perched in cars, buses, trucks, motorbikes and jeeps. Some of the PAT activists are sitting on the bus roof exhibiting their thrill and enthusiasm. However, wearing hamlets and gas masks, a large number of people are also over-zealously walking alongside the march.

Qadri makes speeches time and time again to ignite the passion and energy of his followers. The fervent activists can be seen waving party flags and shouting slogans throughout their march.

The Inqilab March partakers were warmly welcomed upon their arrival in Gujrat, Kharian and Gujranwala.

Earlier on his arrival in Kharian, Qadri while speaking to media claimed that the number of martyred workers in the tragic Model Town incident accounts between 40 to 50 and not fourteen. He added that his workers are proceeding peacefully despite various obstacles and violent threats. Expressing his dismay over the Model Town incident, he said that it was the worst example of state terrorism in the history of Pakistan.

Reversing an earlier government decision to stop Inqilab March, Qadri was allowed to lead an anti-government protest march on the capital on August 14. Qadri had spent last week inside his home in Model Town area of Lahore after the security officials sealed off the entire locality with barbed wires and shipping containers. Qadri has vowed to topple the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif by the end of this month, claiming it to be corrupt.
