Model Town vandalism: LHC orders release of Gullu Butt on bail
Gullu Butt is the main accused in the Model Town vandalism incident.
LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday accepted Gullu Butt s bail plea and ordered the authorities to release him, Dunya News reported.
Gullu Butt’s lawyer had submitted a bail plea in LHC stating that his client was mentally unfit and owners of the cars that were damaged had not filed any complaint against him.
He said police cannot become complainant in the case.
After hearing the arguments, the LHC bench accepted Butt’s bail plea and directed him to submit bonds worth Rs 200,000.
On June 17, TV cameras had captured Gullu Butt smashing a number of vehicles in the presence of police during between of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers and police outside the Minhajul Quran International Secretariat in Model Town area of Lahore.
