Youm-e-Ali (R.A): Eight Punjab districts declared sensitive

Punjab will be put on high alert ahead of Youm-e-Ali falling on coming Sunday.
LAHORE/ PESHAWAR/ RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) – The intelligence agencies have declared eight districts of Punjab as sensitive on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali (R.A).
The districts include Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan, Sahiwal, DG Khan and Bahawalpur.
The Punjab Chief Secretary has established control rooms in Lahore under the supervision of Additional Secretary Home in order to closely monitor the movement of the procession to avoid any untoward incident.
Chief Secretary has also advised all secretaries including the controller administration to stay alert at the time of processions.
Meanwhile, mobile phone services are likely to be suspended in all major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad and Sukkhur in the wake of Youm-e-Ali (RA).
Pillion riding has already been banned in Peshawar while Hyderabad will face the ban from tomorrow.
The Sindh government made a formal request to the federal government to suspend mobile phone services in all major cities of the province including Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur on Friday. The cities will face mobile service suspension from 4am to 11pm on Sunday.
Punjab government has also forwarded a request to suspend mobile services in Rawalpindi.
