DG FDMA Arshad Khan removed from office

Sources say Arshad Khan was removed for failing to provide adequate facilities to the IDPs.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Director General FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) Arshad Khan has been removed from his office.

Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mahtab Abbasi on Monday removed Arshad Khan on the complaint of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

According to the sources, the DG FDMA was removed for failing to properly addressing the issues of the IDPs.

The sources added that the grand jirga had also lodged a complaint to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor against Arshad Khan.

Secretary Administration Abid Majeed has been appointed as acting DG FDMA.

Earlier, Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) stated that 5,380 families have been registered so far while 39,274 IDPs have been verified during last six days.

Verification process of the people belonging to different tehsils of North Waziristan Agency is underway.

Meanwhile, relief operation for IDPs at Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and Peshawar continues at full pace. Army doctors, specially moved to reinforce local medical effort at Bannu, are busy in providing relief to the patients.

Thousands of patients have been treated at the Field Medical Hospital established at Khalifa Gul Nawaz hospital Bannu by Army.
